Life in Bay City

It's an amazing place that Tom and I have moved to. We live on the river. Bay City has rules about animals. Dogs must be on leash at all times. All animals, dogs and cats, must have rabies shots every year and must be registered and have tags.

Now here's the fact. I've always had cats, they've always been house cats. They do not go outside. And yet the veterinarian when I take the cat for care tells me she must have a rabies shot. Blah blah blah blah blah.

Meanwhile, neighborhood dogs run rampant. We even have a neighbor lady, bless her soul, who wanders around the neighborhood looking for dog poop. Her husband insists the dog does not need a leash. Blah blah blah blah blah.

Humans however, in this peculiar neighborhood, have all kinds of rules even though there is no neighborhood association. We have been harassed by one neighbor next door because we chose to have gutters installed around the house and on the garage. This same neighbor cares so much about what we are doing that any improvement we have ever tried to make is directed by him. He just brings himself outside and tells  workers what to do and how to do it. Meanwhile his lack of maintenance is the reason we are fixing our yard.

Last night rampant dogs, or maybe crazy neighbor, chose to walk around where the workers are fixing or riverside lawn so that we will not have to worry about floods coming into our house. I think a fence might fix that problem. Come on springtime.

God bless America. πŸ’•πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ’•
