Gittin' 'er done.

So you all know about the mess in our riverside yard. It's being fixed. Company called Bay Landscaping, excellent personnel, I recommend them highly. When it's done it will be beautiful... and as useful as it was three years ago when we moved in

They showed up yesterday for the third time it's all about getting a drainage system in so that we don't have to put on our boots to walk out to the river. It's looking good. Believe me after looking at a muddy mess for an entire summer, the mess of fixing it is beautiful.

Never been to the Thumb! At your age?

This is the public boat launch at Port Hope, a perfectly charming little town in Michigan's Thumb.

Here we are, Tom and me, standing at the entrance of the boat launch in the beautiful little town of Port Hope. They have a campground for trailers and an area with cottages on the waterside. Next to the ramp it's a small marina. We will definitely go back there next summer!

Gonna Have it Fixed!

  1. FYI I'm back to blogging and ignoring Facebook as though it never existed.
  2. I started this blog with the beginning of my second marriage and you will find it about five posts previous.
  3. Planned on doing this when I started it but now I'm really going to do it. So if you want to know what I'm thinking today this is the place.

Coronavirus confinement

This is my weathershot for today. I'm somewhere in the second week or is it third, of not getting out and about because of the coronavirus.

It's been quite an experience. I'm sure glad I don't have to be here all by myself.

The kids, mostly Janice and Natalie, insist we follow the rules like old people. Natalie told me today that her daughter told her the same thing. I said I will do as my daughter says if she will do as her daughter says.

Note: this was actually written on Friday March 27th 2020. For some reason the algorithm wants to publish it on 6/14/2017. Perhaps since the last time I did a post before this one.

If It's Broke, Fix It...

Our marriage has grown and bloomed since the beginning. One thing I've learned, Tom is a fixer, and a good strong one!

Last year we moved to a condo on the bay. For years the association had been bamboozled and bilked. We chose to ignore the local gossips (at that time there were only two) and became friends with some of the Board of Directors, who had already spent years fixing it.

They revised the Bylaws to meet Michigan Condominium Rules. They paid off bills and fixed broken properties.

Peace and Patience

Today I learned that the simple way is still the best way. I am the cog stopping the wheel from turning, so what do I do?

I phone the doctor, lawyer and merchant chief. I suffer the agony of impatience. I twist and turn, feel like crying, suffer total frustration!

Then, I talk with the person most affected by stopping the wheel. Together we smooth out the facts.

Problem solved! Life is good.
